The Energy of Spring: Purposeful Momentum

Feeling the Shift

There is a moment every year when you can feel the shift.

The air softens, the days stretch a little longer, and something in the earth begins to move again. Almost without noticing, something in us starts to move too.

Not always in obvious ways.

Sometimes it shows up as inspiration and excitement. Other times it looks more like restlessness, irritation, or a low-grade frustration you can’t quite explain. A quiet sense that something in your life needs to change.

Spring carries the energy of rebirth and renewal.

But before new growth becomes visible, there is often a period of friction. A feeling that things can’t stay exactly the way they’ve been.

Our instinct during these moments is often to move faster. To make a plan, fix the problem, or overhaul everything all at once.

But what if the invitation of spring isn’t to rush forward?
What would happen if I slowed down instead of speeding up?

At first, that can feel counterintuitive, especially coming out of the slower rhythm of winter. But slowing down right now offers something important: purposeful momentum.

Not just momentum for momentum’s sake.

When we pause long enough to notice what’s shifting inside of us, we give ourselves the opportunity to move forward with intention instead of simply reacting to discomfort or urgency.

The Seeds We’re Planting

Spring offers a natural moment to take a deeper look at where we actually are in our lives.
It invites questions that many of us don’t stop to ask very often.

What creates energy for me right now? What drains it? What activities, relationships, or commitments do I genuinely find value in?

Because this season is about intentional growth.
Just like the earth, we’re planting seeds.
And the seeds we plant now matter.

When you look ahead six months, one year, or even three years from now, what do you want your life to look like? Who do you want to be? How do you want to be spending your time, energy, and effort?

And maybe the most important question of all:

Does what I’m doing today actually lead me there?
Or is it just busy work?

Sometimes spring brings another realization with it as well.

You might find yourself thinking: What if I’m realizing I actually want something different?

If that’s where you are, you’re not alone.

Spring reminds us that nothing in nature stays the same forever. Things grow, they change direction, and they evolve.

We’re allowed to do the same.

This can also be a powerful moment to ask yourself what you no longer wish to carry forward with you. Old habits, expectations, identities, or patterns that no longer fit who you’re becoming.

Alignment and Momentum

There’s an important distinction that often gets overlooked.
Wanting momentum and actually being ready for momentum are two different things.
So is wanting change versus being aligned with the actions that create that change.

Our alignment often becomes visible in the moments when things don’t go according to plan.

Because they won’t.

The real question becomes: when something doesn’t turn out how you expected, how do you recalibrate?

How we react in these situations creates an energetic blueprint that tells both the universe and our nervous system what we want more of.

If you crash out when something goes wrong, that response slowly becomes your default setting.
If you react with acceptance, awareness, and reflection, that becomes your default setting instead.

Over time, those responses shape the direction of our lives in ways that are easy to underestimate in the moment.

Spring is asking you to choose intentionally.
To plant seeds that actually matter to you, and to build momentum that feels aligned with the life you want to create.

Often the most meaningful growth begins quietly, with small adjustments rather than dramatic overhauls.

A Simple Spring Reflection

If you’re feeling the shifting energy of spring right now, it might be worth taking a little time to sit with a few simple questions.

What in my life is creating energy for me right now?
What feels draining or out of alignment?
What do I want to intentionally build in this next season of my life?
And just as important: What do I no longer wish to carry forward with me?

The seeds we plant during seasons like this often grow quietly at first. But with attention and intention, they shape the path ahead in ways we sometimes only recognize later.
